Carey grabs quick sectional win over Lakota

CAREY — The best way to get in postseason form is to play your way into it. Carey volleyball started its road to a potential fifth straight sectional title with a quick sectional semifinal victory over Lakota on Tuesday, 25-10, 25-7, 25-9.

Carey’s Kessler, DeFeo take top All-N10 honors

Destiny DeFeo was the Northern 10 Athletic Conference’s girls runner of the year for the third straight year, and Carey coach Dean Kessler was named girls coach of the year. The All-N10 cross country teams are based on the league meet for runners, while a coaches’ vote determines coaches of the year.

Riverdale places 4 runners on All-BVC cross country teams

Riverdale freshman Juleigha Collier was an All-Blanchard Valley Conference first-team honoree based on her sixth-place finish in 20:58.52 on Saturday in the Blanchard Valley Conference Championships. Sophomore sister Kendra Collier earned second-team honors, finishing in 21:31.06, while freshman Isabella Renteria received honorable mention with a finish in 23:29.18.

Riverdale takes 2-1 win

OTTOVILLE — Coby Miller scored 45 seconds after Ottoville tied the match, and Riverdale took a 2-1 victory to complete the boys soccer regular season Saturday.

Warriors hold off Rams, 28-26

SYCAMORE — Fans who attended Friday night’s Upper Sandusky-Mohawk game more than got their money’s worth. The hometown Warriors overcame five turnovers to defeat Upper Sandusky 28-26 in a battle of Wyandot County rivals at Warrior Field.
