MORRAL — The first 85 seconds were enough to carry Wynford to a 62-53 victory against Ridgedale that has moved the Royals into a tie for third place in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference.

CAREY — Wes Vent was not active when Upper Sandusky topped Carey at home in December. He and his teammates were very active in the rematch in a packed Blue Devils gym Saturday. The Rams ran ahead 26-2 in the first quarter on their way to an 85-56 victory. Vent had 27 points on 12-of-17 shooting.

MORRAL — Upper Sandusky coach Brent Fahle picked up his 100th career win Saturday at Ridgedale. Abigail Fogle had 26 points in the first half of a 69-41 victory. Fahle has coached six seasons at Upper Sandusky. Prior to that, he was the head coach at Galion for one season.

CAREY — Turnovers led to some easy points early for Carey, and the Blue Devils used a big first half to take a 50-31 victory against Mohawk on Saturday afternoon. Sydney Kin finished with 20 points and 11 rebounds, and Sydney Ferguson scored 15 points for Carey (10-5, 8-3 Northern 10 Athletic Conference).

VAN BUREN — Parker Brown captured the 160-pound championship to lead Mohawk to a seventh-place finish this weekend in the Van Buren Invitational. The Warriors’ Chet Margraf and Cadin Emshoff had third-place finishes, Caden Gurney took fourth, and Daniel Price was sixth.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Sydney Holderman broke the school record for career 3-pointers, but it was not quite enough as Riverdale fell to Buckeye Central, 77-73, in overtime in a non-conference girls basketball game Saturday.

NORTH ROBINSON — Colonel Crawford used a big fourth quarter to pull away with a 48-31 victory against Mohawk in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference boys basketball game Saturday night.

BUCYRUS — Colonel Crawford gradually pulled away for a 58-29 victory against Wynford in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference girls basketball game Saturday.

TIFFIN — Tiffin Calvert started fast and finished strong to defeat Riverdale, 56-41, in a non-conference boys basketball game Saturday night.

BUCYRUS — Bucyrus had the Royals right where it wanted them midway through the third quarter. Then, Wynford went on a run. Jordan Creel scored six straight points and assisted a Zach Hoffman 3 in four possessions to change a 41-40 deficit in to a 49-41 lead. Jack Reed then sank a pair of free throws to make it a 10 point game, and the lead stayed in double digits through the fourth quarter.
