Loveridge leads Falcons at plate on way to 500th win

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Aidan Loveridge had two doubles, a single and four RBIs as Riverdale baseball won for the 500th time in program history with a 12-0 victory in five innings Monday against Cory-Rawson. The Falcons (3-1, 1-0 Blanchard Valley Conference) scored once in the first inning, five times in the second inning and six times in fourth innings.

Cory-Rawson adds to Riverdale’s softball woes, 13-3

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Cory-Rawson scored eight times in the second inning and four times in the fifth inning in a 13-3 victory against Riverdale in a Blanchard Valley Conference softball game Monday. The Falcons (0-4, 0-1 BVC) took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning and also scored single runs in the fourth and fifth innings.

McKee’s HR propels Riverdale

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Evan McKee homered on the first pitch of the bottom of the first inning, and Riverdale was in control the rest of the game in a 5-1 non-conference baseball victory against Upper Sandusky on Saturday. The Falcons (2-1) added two unearned runs in the first inning and scored twice more in the second inning to provide plenty of run support for pitchers Trey Miller (1-1) and Jonathan Walter.

Upper softball rolls to 17-0 victory

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Upper Sandusky scored in four of five innings, including four runs or more in three of them, and rolled to a 17-0 non-conference softball victory against Riverdale on Saturday. The Rams (2-3) put four on the board in the first inning and then six more in the second.

North Union gets 2 walk-off wins

RICHWOOD — North Union walked off in both games of a non-league doubleheader sweep of Wynford on Saturday, winning 10-9 and 5-4. Caleb Stone was 3 for 3 with three RBIs and Blake Williamson was 2 for 3 with three RBIs in the first loss.

Games canceled, rescheduled

All area baseball and softball games scheduled for Friday were canceled or postponed. ——— The Upper Sandusky varsity baseball and softball doubleheaders set for 11 a.m. today at Riverdale have been rescheduled to single games beginning at 1 p.m.                

Wyandot Sports Hall of Fame to induct next class April 15

The Wyandot Sports Hall of Fame will host its annual banquet at 6 p.m. April 15 in the Masters’ Building on the Wyandot County Fairgrounds. Carey’s Cloyce D. Wentling, Sycamore’s Dan Bogard, Riverdale’s Steve Trout, Harpster’s James Dillion, Upper Sandusky’s Roxie Karg, Wynford’s Tom Schreck and the 1965-66 and 1966-67 Carey boys basketball teams will be inducted into the hall of fame.
