SYCAMORE — Playing the last half of the match without leading hitter Addie Thiery, Mohawk had other players step up in a 25-15, 24-26, 25-16, 21-25, 15-11 Division III sectional champion victory against Western Reserve on Saturday.

Carey teams advance to regionals

GALION — Carey’s boys won the district championship, and the girls were runner-up to advance to regional competition Saturday in district cross country action at Amann’s Reservoir Park.

Royals win 53-0 to clinch 3rd N10 title

By now, the Wynford Royals are more than just the best team and only champion in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference. They more closely resemble a machine when they step on the football field for a league game, and they were pretty efficient in a 53-0 win at Upper Sandusky on Friday night to clinch a share of their third straight title since the N10 originated in 2014.

Warriors pass for 180 yards against Rockets

MORRAL — With a comfortable lead, Mohawk had a chance to do a few different things in the second half of Friday night’s game at Ridgedale. Not only did a lot of young players get extended playing time, but the Warriors took advantage of the situation to get a touchdown for lineman Cole Draper in their 47-0 victory that clinched at least a .500 season.

Blue Devils roll to 63-28 victory

CAREY — Within a matter of moments, Carey put away visiting Bucyrus on Friday night. The Blue Devils scored touchdowns on their first four possessions, including off two straight takeaways, on their way to a 63-28 rout against the winless Redmen in a Northern 10 game at Wentling Field.
