Diehm leads SE past Wynford

BUCYRUS — Northern 10 Athletic Conference scoring leader Johnny Diehm shot a 40 to lead Seneca East to a 173-206 victory against Wynford on Thursday. Alex Forehand added a 42, Riley Kalb shot a 44, and Dylan Kalb scored a 47 for the Tigers (5-2 N10).

Bucyrus tops short-handed Upper, 3-2

BUCYRUS — Down a few players, the Upper Sandusky girls tennis team fell in a tight match against Bucyrus, 3-2, on Thursday. The No. 1 doubles team of Delaney McQuown and Samantha Pryor sat out because of a minor injury Pryor suffered in gym class, coach Angie Miller said, and singles player Paige Burger missed the match because of illness.

Morris leads Mohawk to sweep of SE

ATTICA — Mohawk continued its strong recent play with a 25-20, 25-17, 25-22 sweep of Seneca East in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference volleyball match Thursday night. Mya Morris led the team in kills with 14, in aces with two and tied for the team lead with 12 digs and three blocks.

Harrer, Cooper combine for 20 kills in win

CRESTLINE — Wynford had a relatively easy time against former conference foe Crestline, defeating the Bulldogs in a non-league match, 25-13, 25-12, 25-8, on Thursday night. Alyssa Harrer had 11 kills on 21-of-23 hitting, and Maci Cooper came through with a nine-kill effort on 17-of-18 hitting and added three aces on 21-of-21 serving.

Liberty-Benton, Arlington top Riverdale in BVC tri

ARLINGTON — Liberty-Benton had four players shoot in the 30s as it edged Arlington, 155-157, with Riverdale third with a 237 in a Blanchard Valley Conference tri-match Thursday at Sycamore Springs Golf Course. Arlington’s Cole Thomas was medalist with a 37, and Cody Rettig was one stroke behind, but the Eagles (7-3, 5-1 BVC) had four great rounds.

FINDLAY — A short-handed Riverdale girls soccer team could not hold a halftime lead and suffered its first loss, 2-1, at Liberty-Benton on Wednesday. The Falcons (3-1, 2-1 North Central Ohio Soccer Association) played down a player for the majority of the night after a player received a red card
