Carey boys win Columbus Grove Inv.

COLUMBUS GROVE — Trevor Cook finished third individually to lead Carey to the small-school championship Saturday in the Columbus Grove Invitational. The Blue Devils edged Lincolnview, 95-99, for first place.

Taylor Frey’s 3 goals lead to easy 8-1 win

ADA — Taylor Frey scored three goals to lead Riverdale to an 8-1 victory against Ada in a North Central Ohio Soccer Association girls match Saturday. Gabi Rodriguez, Reygan Frey and Alex Rothlisberger all added goals for the Falcons (3-0, 2-0 NCOSA). Ada (0-3-1, 0-2 NCOSA) also surrendered a pair of own goals and its only score came on a Riverdale own goal.

Mohawk’s Margraf medals at Bellevue Invite

BELLEVUE — Mohawk’s Chet Margraf was medalist, but the Warriors were edged for first place by host Bellevue, 323-325, for first place in the Bellevue Invitational at Sleepy Hollow Golf Course. Upper Sandusky placed sixth in the 13-team field with a 350.

Harrer has 15 kills as Royals have no problem vs. Rockets

BUCYRUS — Wynford had an easy time against Ridgedale, taking a 25-17, 25-11, 25-14 victory in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference volleyball match Saturday. Alyssa Harrer had 13 kills on 25-of-28 hitting, Tara Zinser was 14-of-18 hitting for eight kills, and Maci Cooper had five kills and was errorless on 21 attacks.

Mohawk sweeps

BUCYRUS — Mohawk dominated in two of three sets in a sweep of Bucyrus, 25-11, 25-21, 25-5, in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference volleyball match Thursday. May Morris and Kennedy Jeffrey each served four aces, and Addie Thiery led the attack with eight kills.

Parkins lifts Bluffton

BLUFFTON — Abbie Parkins scored both goals as Bluffton defeated Mohawk, 2-0, in a North Central Ohio Soccer Association girls match Saturday. No further information for the match between the Pirates (1-2, 1-1 NCOSA) and Warriors (1-3, 0-2 NCOSA) was available.

Rams rally in first 2 sets, beat Bucks in 4

N10 leaders

For the past few years, the volleyball championship in the North Central Conference and now the Northern 10 Athletic Conference has come down to Upper Sandusky and Buckeye Central. If that is the case again, the Rams have the early advantage following a 25-23, 25-23, 16-25, 25-22 victory against the Bucks on Thursday night.

Upper surrenders only 2 games

Upper Sandusky shut out Crestline in nine of 10 sets and rolled to a 5-0 victory against Crestline on Thursday. The Rams (8-3) gave the day off to doubles players Nadia English and Hope Voorhees and singles player Paige Burger and still rolled.
