Angeline holds on for win over Ottawa Co.

PORT CLINTON — Angeline held on for a 51-45 victory against Ottawa County on Thursday evening at Camp Perry. The Indians (2-1) built a 21-6 lead after one quarter and saw it get cut to 27-16 by halftime and 35-25 entering the third quarter.

SYCAMORE — The Mohawk eighth grade girls basketball team topped Colonel Crawford, 18-11, on Tuesday. Hailey Miller had 11 points, and Alexis Stauffer scored seven points to account for all of the Warriors’ points.

NEW WASHINGTON — Defense keyed a 44-38 Mohawk upset of Buckeye Central in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference girls basketball game Tuesday night. The Warriors held the Northern 10’s third-place team to 17-of-57 shooting (29.8 percent), including just a 1-of-18 clip from long-range, as the first round of league games wrapped up.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale had the lead after the first quarter, but unbeaten Van Buren quickly pulled away and hung on to win a Blanchard Valley Conference boys basketball game, 63-49, on Tuesday. The Falcons (3-7, 0-4 BVC) ran out to a 20-16 first-quarter lead before being outscored 32-15 in the middle quarters.
