Oler qualifies in 2 more events

LANCASTER — Mohawk’s Destini Oler will be busy during the state track and field meet. Already having qualified for state with the Warriors’ 3200 relay team Wednesday, Oler advanced to Columbus in both the 800 and 1600 runs Friday during Division III regional competition at Fairfield Union.

Pack earns return trip to state

PIQUA — Shane Pack wasn’t at his best, but he was good enough to advance. A state placer in the discus last year, Pack will be back in Columbus for the same event next week after tossing a throw of 147-3 in the Division II regional track and field competition at Piqua on Thursday.

Carey faces unbeaten Gibsonburg

CAREY — When the Blue Devils face The Golden Bears at the Marathon Diamonds this year, it’ll be for a trip to state. A bit of a surprise to reach the regional tournament last year, Carey downed perennial power Gibsonburg, 8-6, in the semifinal before losing to eventual state champion Convoy Crestview in the final.
