St. Patrick’s Day 5K run set for Saturday

The St. Patrick’s Day 5K Fun Run/Walk to benefit the Upper Sandusky Middle School eighth grade grip to Washington, D.C., is 4 p.m. Saturday beginning at Stepping Stones Park. Pre-registration, due by Thursday, is $15 and includes a T-shirt.

Bucyrus seeks teams to play in softball league

BUCYRUS — The Bucyrus Softball Association summer league is looking to expand its Sunday Co-ed League and its Friday Nite Men’s League. An informational meeting for people who are interested in having a team in either league will be at 6 p.m. Sunday in council chambers at Bucyrus City Hall, 500 S. Sandusky Ave.

WSHOF set to induct class in April banquet

The Wyandot Sports Hall of Fame will host its sixth annual induction ceremony and banquet at 6 p.m. April 16. This year’s class includes Carey’s Jim Draper, Mohawk’s Don Hannam, Riverdale’s Hank Hemmerly, Upper Sandusky’s Curtis McMillan and Steve Schertzer, Wynford’s Mike McGuire and the 1955 Upper Sandusky football team.

Wentling excels in All-Star game action

FOSTORIA — Sydney Wentling did not shoot the ball well in a 3-point contest. But in the flow of the game, she looked like her usual self. Wentling scored 19 points to help her West team top the East, 86-55, in the girls’ Fostoria Athletic Boosters All-Star Basketball Game on Sunday.
