NEW WASHINGTON — Mohawk overcame a cold-shooting performance to take a 34-30 victory against Buckeye Central on Saturday night in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference boys basketball game. The Warriors (8-4, 7-2 N10) missed all nine of their 3-point tries and went just 8 of 21 (38.1 percent) at the foul line.

Varsity and junior varsity basketball games scheduled for Friday were postponed. Carey’s home girls games against Colonel Crawford was postponed to Feb. 1.

KENTON — The Hardin County Family YMCA has announced plans for holding the “February Frenzy” adult 3-on-3 basketball double elimination tournament on Feb. 16-17 at the YMCA in Kenton. The tournament will have men’s and women’s divisions and is for all adults 18 and older.

CAREY — The scariest thought for boys basketball teams in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference? Having to find a way to stop Colonel Crawford sophomore guard Cameron McCreary for two more years.

CRESTLINE — Coach Jason Engel marveled that Wynford was able to pick up a win despite shooting 34 percent from the field with only one made 3-pointer and 48 percent at the foul line with 24 turnovers.

NORTH BALTIMORE — The Riverdale girls basketball team won its second consecutive game and fourth in its last five with a 71-61 victory over North Baltimore in a Blanchard Valley Conference game on Thursday. The Falcons (8-6 4-2 BVC) connected on 16 of 44 shots from the field, 6 of 18 from 3-point range and 21 of 29 free throws.

NEW WASHINGTON — Upper Sandusky’s seventh grade boys basketball team used balanced scoring to take a 39-28 victory against Buckeye Central on Thursday. Jackson Smalley led the Rams (8-1) with 10 points, while Sam Smith had 6 points, and Levi Lamb and Keegan Iles had 5 points each.

Heritage Christian Union Church bounced back from a 5-4 loss Thursday to beat John Stewart United Methodist Church, 5-1 and 2-1, and move into a first-place tie in the Wyandot County Church Dartball standings.

MARION — Upper Sandusky dominated the River Valley Invitational swim meet Wednesday evening at W. Keith Davis Natatorium at the Marion YMCA. The Rams girls topped Jonathan Alder for first, 161-90, while the Rams boys were 217-57 winners over River Valley.
