USPD releases reports

An Upper Sandusky woman reported the afternoon of Aug. 23 two photo albums were stolen from her residence in the 100 block of Essex Way. An officer made contact with the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office to ask a deputy to go check with the suspect in the county.

Sheriff’s deputies make arrests, deal with escaped dogs

David W. Owen, Marion, was picked up at Ross Correctional Institute, Chillicothe, and transported to Wyandot County Common Pleas Court for a judicial release hearing the morning of Aug. 15. A deputy responded to a loose dog call in Nevada the afternoon of Aug. 15. The dog was taken to the Wyandot County Humane Society but escaped upon arrival.

Upper Sandusky Police Department Carolyn A. Hehr, Upper Sandusky, was cited for disorderly conduct — recklessly causing alarm to another by threatening a person in violent or turbulent behavior for allegedly blowing a running leaf blower into her neighbor’s face after her neighbor blew grass into her yard while mowing in the 400 block of South Seventh Street the afternoon of Aug. 23.

Upper Sandusky Police Department An Upper Sandusky woman was advised she was reported to have driven the wrong way down a one-way street near Union School the morning of Aug. 22. The woman advised she was unaware the street was one way. The officer said to keep it in mind next time she drops off her child at school. An Upper Sandusky woman reported finding her neighbor on the floor of the neighbor’s apartment in the 600 block of Highland Parkway the morning of Aug. 22, and she wanted an officer to convince the neighbor to go to the hospital. The neighbor said she did not want emergency medical services called because of a bad experience she previously had. After speaking with an officer, the person agreed to have EMS called. Anthony L. Shumaker, Upper Sandusky, was cited for failure to yield after a minor vehicle crash in the 500 block of North Seventh Street the morning of Aug. 22. Damione R. Miller, Upper Sandusky, was arrested on a warrant out of Logan County the morning of Aug. 22. Miller was held at the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office until being extradited. Two abandoned 911 calls came from an office in the 200 block of West Johnson Street the afternoon of Aug. 22. Contact was made with the doctor of the office, who advised everything was fine. An Upper Sandusky man reported the afternoon of Aug. 22 his caretaker allegedly struck him. An officer contacted the caretaker, who denied striking the man as she works the night shift and rarely has contact with him until she wakes him in the morning. The situation remained under investigation. A motorcycle accident was reported the afternoon of Aug. 22. The accident at the intersection of Ohio 53 and Tarhe Trail caused unknown injuries. Bryan J. Pino, Upper Sandusky, was cited for speed in the 100 block of North Seventh Street the night of Aug. 22. An Upper Sandusky woman reported her daughter’s bicycle was stolen from the 500 block of South Eighth Street the night of Aug. 22. Joshua M. Miller, Bucyrus, was warned for no plate light at the intersection of River’s Edge and East Wyandot Avenue early the morning of Aug. 23. Jeff A. Myers, Bucyrus, was warned for loud exhaust, and a passenger in the car, Travis L. Beamer, Nevada, was cited with a minor misdemeanor possession of marijuana after a traffic stop on East Wyandot Avenue early the morning of Aug. 23. Cindy L. Weatherholtz, Upper Sandusky, was warned for two headlights required on East Wyandot Avenue early the morning of Aug. 23. Anastasia Kurtz, Waterville, was cited for speed at the intersection of East Wyandot Avenue and Malabar Drive early the morning of Aug. 23. An employee of South School reported the morning of Aug. 23 three students advised on two separate occasions, a white jeep was spotted following the students and speeding off when seen. The driver was reported as a middle-aged white male. The parents of the students were made aware of the claims.

Deputies respond to calls

The owner of an elevator on Pennington Street, Sycamore, filed a vandalism report after it was discovered someone had gained entry into one of the buildings and attempted to steal two carts full of miscellaneous tools the morning of Aug. 12.
