Safety Blotter: April 17, 2017

Matthew G. Lee, Fort Worth, Texas, was arrested for physical control and cited for possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle the afternoon of April 2 after a caller reported two individuals throwing empty beer cans out of a truck with Texas plates parked at a pond on private property near CH 108 and CH 47, Salem Township.

Sheriff’s deputies respond to calls

Cheryl A. Chaffee, Sycamore, was cited for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and failure to control after a single-vehicle crash on Ohio 67 near milepost 29 early the morning of April 1. Her blood-alcohol content level was .199 percent, more than two times the .08 legal limit to drive in Ohio.

Safety Blotter: April 12, 2017

A woman in the 800 block of Shields Drive called 911 to report someone trying to enter her residence early the morning of March 22. Officers found the front door open and nothing disturbed. It was deemed a neighbor in the duplex may have come home and opened the wrong door, as he matched the description of the man the woman saw.

Safety Blotter: April 7, 2017

A deputy responded to a dispute between a landlord and a tenant in the 5700 block of CH 136, Sycamore Township, the afternoon of March 26. Tonya M. Quinichette, Columbus, was cited for speed and driving under non-compliance suspension on U.S. 23 near milepost 8, Pitt Township, the afternoon of March 26.

Safety Blotter: April 3, 2017

A person came on station to show a video of a possible domestic violence incident the night of March 15. The video showed a woman and man arguing and him claiming she was hitting him, but the officer reported seeing no violence take place.

Safety Blotter: April 1, 2017

An officer responded to a minor crash at Wyandot Memorial Hospital the afternoon of March 15. A woman backed her vehicle into a vehicle owned by an Upper Sandusky woman and then fled the scene. The license plate number given belonged to a Marion woman.

Safety Blotter: March 30, 2017

A caller requested a welfare check for an individual in the 15000 block of TH 97, Mifflin Township, early the morning of March 21. A business owner in the 10000 block of TH 122, Upper Sandusky, reported the morning of March 21 that an employee had stolen propane from one of the business’ tanks.
