Safety blotter: September 17, 2019

A deputy assisted a Sycamore woman with a scam attempt the afternoon of Sept. 12. A company had direct deposited a check into her account, but the check was flagged by the bank. The deputy spoke on the phone to the company that was calling the woman and told them they weren’t getting money from her.

Safety blotter: September 16, 2019

An officer assisted the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Department and Wyandot County EMS with traffic control on North Sandusky Avenue at Indian Mill Drive the evening of Sept. 13. Mary A. McCaleb, Upper Sandusky, was cited for driving under suspension at the intersection of West Johnson and South Seventh streets the night of Sept. 13.

Officers assisted Wyandot County EMS with an Upper Sandusky woman who had fallen and injured her leg at Stepping Stones Park the morning of Sept. 11. Tyler S. Robinson, Mount Gilead, was cited for expired registration on the 300 block of South Sandusky Avenue the morning of Sept. 11.

Upper Sandusky Police Department Brett A. Smith, Carey, was arrested for OVI and cited for failure to drive in marked lanes on the 1300 block of North Warpole Street the early morning of Sept. 1.

Upper Sandusky Police Department Blake A. Staymen, Kenton, was arrested on a warrant out of Upper Sandusky Municipal Court for failure to comply on a driving under suspension charge the night of Aug. 29.

Safety Blotter: September 3, 2019

A caller reported someone panhandling at Walmart the morning of Aug. 29. The responding officer made contact with a Michigan man, who said he was heading to Akron and was trying to get enough money to make the entire trip. The man was off the roadway and was on private property. 

Safety blotter: August 29, 2019

An officer on patrol observed a disabled vehicle with its hazard lights on on South Sandusky Avenue near South Street the early morning of Aug. 26. The vehicle had run out of gas. The officer gave the driver a ride to the gas station and back and the vehicle was moved.
