The Wyandot County Board of Commissioners recently approved registration for a program through the County Commissioners’ Association of Ohio. The program allows the association to bundle multiple energy-based projects together to send out to contractors for bids.

Four new teachers have been hired at local Catholic schools for the 2016-17 academic year. St. Peter School and Our Lady of Consolation School each hired two new teachers to join the schools’ staffs.

Three candidates will seek two seats on the Wyandot Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors with terms beginning Jan. 1. An election will take place in conjunction with the annual banquet Thursday in the Masters’ Building at the Wyandot County Fairgrounds.

KENTON — The Ohio No-Till Summer Field Day is slated for Aug. 31 at the Jon Layman farm, located at 15238 Township Road 119, Kenton. The Ohio State University Extension and the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center are the outreach and research arms of the Ohio State University’s College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and will host the event.

The Wyandot County Farm Bureau will host its annual meeting at noon Sunday at John Stewart United Methodist, 130 W. Johnson St., Upper Sandusky. A buffet lunch catered by Special Occasions will begin at 12:30 p.m.

BUCYRUS — The Crawford Soil and Water Conservation District will have a special election to elect two supervisors to the Crawford SWCD Board of Supervisors for three-year terms commencing Jan. 1. The terms of Nathan Brause and Tom Miller terms expire Dec. 31.
