The National Weather Service says four tornadoes touched down in one western Ohio county during a storm that moved across Indiana and Ohio. Emergency officials in Van Wert County near the Indiana state line say they’re fortunate that the tornadoes rolled across mostly rural farmland during the storms Wednesday night.

The Wyandot County General Health District set up specialized mosquito traps Tuesday to determine if the type of mosquito known to carry Zika virus is flying around the area. The Upper Sandusky safety committee will have its monthly meeting Monday following the special city council meeting rather than rescheduling the meeting for Sept. 6 in observance of Labor Day. The safety committee normally meets the first Monday of each month after council.

TIFFIN — Due to a scheduling conflict, the Here Come the Mummies performance at The Ritz Theatre in Tiffin that originally was scheduled for March 4 has been rescheduled for 7:30 p.m. March 25. Back by popular demand, Here Come the Mummies is an eight-piece funk-rock band of 5,000-year-old Egyptian mummies.
