ADA — Hugh O’Brian will forever be known as one of the kings of the Wild West. O’Brian starred as the legendary Wyatt Earp from 1955-61 in the television series “The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp.”

The K-9 unit responded to a request by the Carey Police Department for assistance with a traffic stop the afternoon of May 31 at the intersection of U.S. 23 and Ohio 199.

The Wyandot County Board of Commissioners and representatives of the Hancock County Board of Commissioners met for a joint session Thursday at Upper Sandusky High School for the first electronic viewing of a petition for the counties to clear and maintain a ditch in northwestern Wyandot County.

BUCYRUS — Wynford Local School District technology coordinator Missi Grove gave the board of education a preview of the new district website that should be complete in a couple of weeks. Grove said during Thursday night’s meeting that the website was long overdue for an update. She said it is 70-75 percent finished at www.wynfordroyals.org.

REYNOLDSBURG — The Ohio Department of Agriculture will begin aerial treatments designed to disrupt gypsy moth mating on 10,878 acres in Crawford, Hancock, Marion, Seneca, Van Wert and Wyandot counties next week.

Whitney A. Johnson (Cox), Carey, was arrested following a traffic stop on the 400 block of South Hazel Street the afternoon of May 26 on a warrant put out by the Marion County Sheriff’s office.

Every late spring through early summer since 1985, youth in first through sixth grades have taken the stage at the Star Theatre in Upper Sandusky for the Star Kids theater program. Through support of the community and longtime director Lori (McCreary) Lavery and her family, among others, the local youth get an opportunity to learn basic theater techniques, including singing, dancing and acting, and shine in their own performances.

A suspicious man was reported walking around the outside of Wyandot Memorial Hospital the morning of May 26. The man explained he got into an argument with his girlfriend, and instead of fighting with her, he packed his things and was waiting for a friend to pick him up. The friend arrived while the officer was on scene, and the man left the scene.
