16th annual Autumn Cruise slated to benefit hospice again

The 16th annual Autumn Cruise is slated for Sept. 24 in downtown Upper Sandusky, where hundreds of antique car and truck enthusiasts are expected to gather for a fundraiser to benefit Hospice of Wyandot County. This year’s car and truck show will honor the Wyandot Mission Church, now known as Old Mission Church, which was the first Methodist mission to Native Americans in the country.

Phone service knocked out after crew strikes cables

Between 700 and 800 AT&T telephone customers, including the Upper Sandusky police and fire departments and wastewater treatment plant and Upper Sandusky Exempted Village Schools, are believed to be out of service for the second day after a crew digging under North Seventh Street for the sewer separation project struck telephone cables they say were unmarked.

Board shares numbers of fair-goers

General admission at the Wyandot County Fair on Wednesday totaled 1,381 people, according to a representative of the senior fair board. A total of 110 adult passes and 91 youth passes also were sold at the gates Wednesday, the second day of the 165th Wyandot County Fair.

Palace staging ‘Tarzan’ in October

MARION — The Marion Palace Theatre, located in downtown Marion, will stage a full-scale musical production of Disney’s “Tarzan” for performances at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 7 and 8 and 2 p.m. Oct. 9. In this adaptation of the Disney film, “Tarzan” tells the moving story of a shipwreck that leaves an infant boy washed up on the shores of West Africa.
