OSHA urges employers to protect workers from heat illness with rest, water, shade With temperatures expected to soar into the 90s for the next several days throughout the Midwest, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration is reminding employers to protect workers who may be exposed to extreme heat while working outdoors or in hot indoor environments.

Treasurer: Riverdale solid financially

MOUNT BLANCHARD — The Riverdale School District continues to have a strong financial standing. Treasurer Jodie Ribley reported at Monday’s school board meeting that even though money has been spent this year on upgrades to technology, a new bus and mulch for the playground, the budget continues to remain positive for the end of the fiscal year.

Bucyrus man arrested in reverse sting

A Bucyrus man has been arrested in Wyandot County after a reserve sting operation conducted by the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office and the METRICH Enforcement Unit in the 11000 block of TH 44 on Tuesday. Michael D. Hickman, 33, was taken into custody at the scene by members of the Wyandot County Special Response Team, according to a press release from the WCSO.

Woodland program to be offered in Mansfield

MANSFIELD — Ohio State University at Mansfield will host the Ohio woodland stewards program from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 5, and the deadline to register is July 29. Participants will learn how to diagnose common and uncommon tree problems and work with OSU Extension specialists to learn what trees need immediate attention and what is simply cosmetic.

Pond clinic set in Bucyrus

BUCYRUS — The Crawford Soil and Water Conservation District will host a pond clinic from 5:30-8 p.m. June 29 at Mike and Andrea Stump’s pond at 2805 Shearer Road, Bucyrus. The event will be held rain or shine, and participants are asked to bring lawn chairs.
