NEVADA — Nevada Mayor Harold Lambert is looking into what can be done to prevent flooding like the village saw during Friday’s downpour, but finding a solution at an affordable cost will be a challenge, he said during Monday night’s council meeting.

Merle E. Hartman, North Baltimore, was picked up from the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, Bowling Green, the morning of July 3 on a warrant out of Upper Sandusky Municipal Court for failure to appear on original charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

Wyandot County Board of Developmental Disabilities will meet in special session at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Angeline, 11028 CH 44, Upper Sandusky OH 43351. The board will enter into executive session to consider personnel matters of the board.

An Upper Sandusky man was transported to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, after crashing a vehicle into a house on West Church Street on Sunday evening, according to a report from the Upper Sandusky Police Department.

Patrons of the Wyandot County Historical Society’s annual ice cream social received free admission to the Wyandot County museum and schoolhouse Saturday. An exhibit at the museum for a limited time was featured, and will continue throughout July.

Severe thunderstorms caused flooding in areas of Wyandot County on Friday, but there were few weather-related calls for service from local law enforcement. Precipitation observation statistics from the National Weather Service indicate the county received about 1.24 inches of rainfall Friday.

HARPSTER — The driver of a moped that was involved in a serious injury crash with a commercial vehicle on U.S. 23 last week has been cited. Felix O. Aubock, 20, of Ann Arbor, Michigan, was cited for slow speed and failure to follow rules of operation for a motorized bicycle after the crash the night of June 29.
