An officer responded to a report of an attempted vehicle break-in in the 500 block of Highland Parkway early the morning of July 20. A victim reported between $1,500 and $2,000 in items were missing from his van.

NEVADA — The White Shutter Winery and Brewery has added few touches and improvements since it opened in 2014. A grape-themed mural marks the spot off U.S. 30 between Upper Sandusky and Nevada where Joe and Cindy Kraus built their tasting room.

SYCAMORE — A standing-room-only crowd packed Tuesday night’s Sycamore Village Council meeting to speak out against an upcoming council vote on a proposed rezoning that could make way for a Dollar General store to open at the north end of town.

BUCYRUS – Architect Brent Buehrer gave details of a proposed new middle school and high school building to a group of community members Tuesday evening in the Wynford High School auditorium. Mike Burns, director of Robert W. Baird and Co. Inc., also presented financial information about the ballot issue set to go before voters in the November election.

FOREST — Precision Ag Field Day is Aug. 23 at Kellogg Farms, 17392 TR 50 near Forest. Aaron Heilers, project manager for Blanchard River Demonstration Farms will give an overview of the water quality and nutrient management goals of the three farms in Hardin and Hancock counties.

Producers enrolled in Agriculture Risk Coverage (ARC) or Price Loss Coverage (PLC) must protect all cropland and noncropland acres on the farm from wind and water erosion and noxious weeds. Producers who sign ARC county or individual contracts and PLC contracts agree to effectively control noxious weeds on the farm according to sound agricultural practices.
