Sycamore considers ways to improve pool, park

SYCAMORE — The Sycamore’s parks committee met with leaders from local business leaders Tuesday to discuss plans for 2018. Dean Keller, President of the First National Bank of Sycamore, presented a fundraising letter that he would like to send to local businesses and private citizens to collect pledges toward the pool and the parks.

Forestry clinic slated Saturday

The Wyandot Soil and Water Conservation District is sponsoring a forestry clinic from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the county woodlot next to Angeline School. This clinic will include presentations on timber stand improvements, best management practices for woodlots, invasive species control and harvest contract do’s and don’ts.

Acreage report deadline Nov. 15

Wyandot County producers are reminded that the acreage reporting deadline for perennial forage crop (examples are grass hay, alfalfa, clover or pasture) is Nov. 15 for crop year 2018 and subsequent years. Also, producers are reminded that the acreage reporting date for fall seeded crops is Dec. 15.
