Upper Sandusky Exempted Village School Board members agreed with guests at Monday evening’s board meeting that the late Robby Lee should be honored by the district. But board members would not commit to the proposal from the Robby Lee Memorial Committee to name the driveway in front of Upper Sandusky High School in honor of Lee.

CAREY — Carey Village Council on Monday approved a motion to re-introduce a wage ordinance to increase the salaries of workers in the village’s electric department and attract applicants for an open position in the department. The village advertised for open positions in its electric department 4.5 months ago, but has had trouble finding workers willing to work for the salary the village is paying workers in the electric department.

Due to Thanksgiving, the Upper Sandusky Street and Sanitation Department announced there are changes to this week’s trash pick-up schedule. Residents who have either Wednesday or Thursday trash pick-up will have their trash picked up on Wednesday.

Two separate water rescues were performed Monday after a pair of vehicles were stranded in high water.

Fairhaven memory care residents held an art showcase Sunday as part of the Opening Minds through Art (OMA) program. OMA is a program for people with Alzheimer’s and dementia-related illnesses.

A Marion man was arrested Saturday afternoon following a foot chase into a flooded field. The sheriff’s report states deputies responded to a complaint about a suspicious male who was later identified as Christopher M. Klaiber, Marion, walking into buildings on the 8600 block of TH 104 in Salem Township.

Fairhaven Community celebrated a rededication Friday afternoon. Significant upgrades were made to the retirement facility over the last three and a half years thanks in part to $1.7 million dollars raised by 423 donors over a seven-year period of fundraising and Fairhaven proudly showed them off with guided tours.

FOREST — A new program is hoping to reduce the stress young people feel when they find themselves interacting with law enforcement. Jessica Alger presented the Pages of Hope program this week to members of the Forest CIC.

Handicap-accessible playground equipment will hopefully be coming to Upper Sandusky soon. South Elementary School is the only ranch-style school within city limits. A child with any physical disability or limitation will be sent to South Elementary School because there are no stairs to get into the building and they can access the entire building.

MARSEILLES — Marseilles Village Council met in regular session Tuesday. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Rick Arnold.
