The featured display this year at the Upper Sandusky Winter Fantasy of Lights is “Arose such a ladder” for the Upper Sandusky Fire Department. The Fantasy of Lights begins today and lasts until Dec. 30.

FOREST — The village of Forest will celebrate the third annual Charlie Brown Christmas on Sunday, an event that has expanded from its humble beginnings. In 2014, organizer Becky Taylor recalled, the village’s Community Improvement Corporation was looking for ways to promote its downtown businesses for the Christmas holidays.

FOREST — Ohio selected 12 large growers to participate in its medical marijuana program Thursday but plans for a cultivation plant in Forest were not included. Developer Janet Breneman had applied for a permit for the Green Camp Provisions plant to be built in Forest.

A Mount Blanchard man received a 7-year sentence for his role in an overdose death of an Upper Sandusky man. Nathan Zofcin, 41, received a mandatory prison sentence of 7 years with the Ohio Department of Corrections Wednesday in Wyandot County Common Pleas Court in the heroin overdose death of Heath Bulkowski, 26, of Upper Sandusky, on July 6, 2016.

TIFFIN — Heidelberg University’s School of Music and Theatre will present “Santaland Diaries,” a collection of fanciful stories by humorist David Sedaris, at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Gundlach Theatre. “Santaland Diaries” is being performed as a one-man show by Heidelberg adjunct music instructor and guest artist David Cotter.

HARPSTER — The Scioto Ridge Boys will be featured in a gospel concert as part of a Blue Christmas service at 6 p.m. Dec. 3 at Harpster United Methodist Church, 17508 Cherokee St., Harpster. The group features Mark Snider, Barry Weaver, Bob Houston and Bob Joseph.

Christmas will be in full swing Friday evening in Carey. The Carey Area Chamber of Commerce’s 15th annual Christmas in Carey is set to take place 5-8 p.m. in the downtown area.

A Carey man who hid with two juveniles for a month in an abandoned Upper Sandusky home was sentenced to more than 4 years in prison Wednesday. Dylan Kincade, 19, of Carey, pleaded guilty Wednesday morning to three counts of sexual conduct with a minor and to breaking and entering, and was found guilty by the court.
