The Upper Sandusky High School drama department recently held its Rammie Awards program. Winners for the fall play, “Not Your Average Zombie Apocalypse,” were Kate Gagnon, student director; Katie Clark, best crew member; Joey Verdugo, best actor; Lucy Smith, best actress; Mitchell DeWitt, best supporting actor; Laura Stauffer, best supporting actress; Brett Bianchi, best male small role; Leah Crawford, best female small role; Clay Burger, best male comedic performance; Olivia Barth, best female comedic performance; and Christin Schwiebert, best foreign actor.

SYCAMORE — This weekend’s No One Fights Alone fourth annual car show and community fun day has something for everyone. The event takes place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Veterans Memorial Park in Sycamore.

Upper Sandusky High School will graduate 121 students in the class of 2018 during a ceremony at 7 p.m. Friday in the high school gymnasium. The class motto from Winnie the Pooh is, “We don’t realize we were making memories. We just knew we were having fun.”

SYCAMORE — Mohawk High School held its awards night earlier this month.

Community outreach opportunities were discussed during Wednesday’s meeting of the Wyandot County Veteran’s Service Commission. Wyandot County Veterans Service Officer Theresa Miller broached the idea of advertising at the 2018 Wyandot County Fair in the harness racing program as well as having a booth at the fair. Both Items were approved.

The Upper Sandusky baseball team held its annual baseball kids camp last Saturday.

Whole Life Fitness in Upper Sandusky is about to gain some serious experience. Melissa Summit, who has worked in the fitness industry for the last 13 years, will join Whole Life Fitness on Monday to teach the Silver Sneakers Classic class.

FOREST — Community First Bancshares Inc., the holding company of Community First Bank, N.A., of Forest, Kenton and Upper Sandusky, held its annual stockholders meeting April 19 at the Forest VFW social room in Forest. There were 88 stockholders present.

FINDLAY — Recruitment is underway to enroll participants in the next Micro Business Development Program offered by the HHWP Community Action Commission. The program consists of 13 sessions held from 5:45-8:45 p.m. on Thursdays beginning May 31 at the Findlay-Hancock County Chamber of Commerce, 123 E. Main Cross St., Findlay. The final session will be Aug. 23.

Barb Harber’s second grade class at South School Elementary in Upper Sandusky learned some valuable lessons over the last two months about bullying. Following up on a project student Elijah Clements was doing, Harber got the entire class to sign anti-bullying pledges.
