Carey OKs increased pay range ordinance

CAREY — At their meeting on Thursday, Carey Village Council approved an ordinance amending a previous ordinance for the pay range for the Village of Carey Electric Department. An ordinance approved by council on Dec. 4, 2017, authorized and approved the increased pay range for the Village of Carey Electric Department.

Seniors met at Trinity Evangelical Church Thursday afternoon for the third annual Pizza and Passports event put on by the Wyandot County Council on Aging. A total of 14 trips for ages 12 and up are planned for 2018 ranging from the Ohio State Fair to Washington D.C. and the Grand Canyon.

Palace having volunteer orientation

MARION — Palace volunteer advisory committee members will meet with potential Palace volunteers during an orientation session at 10 a.m. Jan. 27 in the Palace Theatre. The Palace hopes to build a volunteer corps with people ranging from juniors in high school to retirees who wish to give back to the community.
