Sheriff Michael R. Hetzel has released his activity report for the year of 2017:

Julie Lemire (left) and Sarah Kloepfer (center) of the South School Parent Team accepted a check for $5,000 Thursday morning from Dyanna Nolen of Westbrook Assisted Living towards the South School Playground Project.

CAREY — At their meeting on Thursday, Carey Village Council approved an ordinance amending a previous ordinance for the pay range for the Village of Carey Electric Department. An ordinance approved by council on Dec. 4, 2017, authorized and approved the increased pay range for the Village of Carey Electric Department.

Seniors met at Trinity Evangelical Church Thursday afternoon for the third annual Pizza and Passports event put on by the Wyandot County Council on Aging. A total of 14 trips for ages 12 and up are planned for 2018 ranging from the Ohio State Fair to Washington D.C. and the Grand Canyon.

CAREY — The Carey High School choir invites all alumni back to perform a concert April 14. All alumni of Carey High School choirs are asked to join for the rehearsals and the performance.

MARION — Palace volunteer advisory committee members will meet with potential Palace volunteers during an orientation session at 10 a.m. Jan. 27 in the Palace Theatre. The Palace hopes to build a volunteer corps with people ranging from juniors in high school to retirees who wish to give back to the community.

TIFFIN — You've never heard of them, but hey, they’ve never heard of you either. The Nobodies of Comedy is a chance to see the funniest up-and-coming comedians in America, and they are performing at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at The Ritz Theatre, 30 S. Washington St., Tiffin.

FINDLAY — The University of Findlay’s spring 2018 Faculty Art Exhibition is taking place through Feb. 2 in the Virginia B. Gardner Fine Arts Pavilion’s Lea Gallery. A public reception will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the gallery.
