The “What’s Cookin’” cookbook discussion group held a soup cook-off Monday evening at the Upper Sandusky Community Library. There were 17 entrants for the cook-off and judges were Janice Woods, Ron Boose and Pat Fintel.

The Wyandot County Board of Developmental Disabilities elected officers on Thursday. Richard Verhoff was elected president, Charlene Latham vice president and Bev Smith was elected secretary.

A family with deep roots in Upper Sandusky lost nearly all their possessions in a house fire three weeks ago. Dan and Nicole Seitz’s rented home in Branson, Missouri, caught fire Jan. 3.

A Sycamore man was arrested in the afternoon Sunday after allegedly crashing his vehicle into the Bridgestone Corporation building in Upper Sandusky. Sean Cassaro, 41, of Sycamore, was arrested for felony vandalism and was transported to the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office.

For most of her life, Tesla Billenstein has loved music. “Music is my backbone,” she said. “I don’t go a day without listening to music.” As Billenstein sang along with her favorite recording artists, she envisioned herself sharing her music with the public.

CAREY — The youth of Carey gained some important knowledge Friday. Twins Morgan and Kirsten Etzinger, sophomores at Carey High School, chose to teach personal financial literacy to children in kindergarten through fifth grade as their DECA project for the 2017-18 school year.
