McCUTCHENVILLE — The Ohio Department of Transportation Northwest District 1 reported Tuesday that Ohio 53 south of McCutchenville is now open following repairs from damage to the railroad crossing caused by a train derailment last week.

CAREY — On Monday, Carey Village Councilors approved the final reading of an ordinance authorizing the village administrator and/or village mayor to send notice terminating the agreement with the Central Collection Agency, Division of Taxation, the central collection of municipal income tax between the city of Cleveland and the village of Carey. It was passed as an emergency.

The “What’s Cookin’” recipe group met for its annual picnic Monday evening at the Upper Sandusky Community Library. Attendees brought their favorite picnic food, complete with recipes.
