COLUMBUS — Applications now are being accepted for Class X of AgriPOWER, Ohio Farm Bureau’s elite leadership and advocacy program. Twenty individuals will be selected to participate in the program, which will consist of seven multiday institutes (17 days total). The deadline to apply is April 20.

BUCYRUS — Rural-Urban Day is March 13 at The Pickwick Place, 1875 N. Sandusky Ave., Bucyrus. Seating will begin promptly at 11:30 a.m. with food service and program to follow.

COLUMBUS — The Hardin, Hancock, Seneca and Wyandot counties Young Agricultural Professionals earned one of eight $500 grants awarded by the Ohio Farm Bureau’s YAP program. Young Ag Professionals from these four counties will join forces with the Blanchard River Demonstration Farms Network to host a daylong FFA Career Day at the demonstration farms.

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Department of Agriculture Economic Research Service last week projected net farm income to decrease $4.3 billion from 2017 to $59.5 billion in 2018, a 52 percent drop since 2013.
