Some unique artwork now decorates the Merchants Building at the Wyandot County Fairgrounds. Local artist Dick Eyestone was commissioned to design an 8-foot-by-8-foot barn quilt for the Wyandot County Fair this year.

New owners

The new owners of Route 30 Harley-Davidson in Upper Sandusky are hoping to bring a family-friendly environment to the motorcycle dealership. Mandie and Joe Bayliff, of Dunkirk, closed on the dealership formerly known as Thiel’s Wheels Harley-Davidson on Aug. 1 and they held a big three-day Backyard BBQ event this past weekend to introduce themselves to the community.

Danielle Kreais, CPNP-PC, joined the staff at Wyandot Memorial Hospital to care for children from newborn through age 17. The Wyandot County native — formerly Danielle Boes — has extensive experience in pediatrics, both as a certified pediatric nurse practitioner-primary care and as a registered nurse.

The Carey FFA chapter held its annual officer retreat over the summer in Loudonville. All officers were able to attend the retreat. During the three-day retreat, the officers participated in leadership and team building activities.

Student increase doesn’t net much extra funding at Riverdale

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Even though the Riverdale Local School District has seen an increase of about 34 students this year, that won’t result in a large increase in funding. District Treasurer Jodie Ribley began her report at Monday’s regular monthly meeting by stating that the 2018-19 school year has started out well, with new employees added to the system and students back in classes with a possible increase in enrollment.

Medians closed now at US 23/30 intersections with CH 50, 121

The median crossovers at CH 50 and CH 121 along U.S. 23/U.S. 30 in Upper Sandusky will closed this week and removal of all access there will be considered next year. The medians at CH 50 and CH 121 along U.S. 23/U.S. 30 will be closed off with construction barrels and signage on U.S. 23/U.S. 30 and on the local roads approaching the intersections will be modified to reflect the change in access.
