The Wyandot County Council on Aging hosted senior day Thursday at the Wyandot County Fair. Seniors had $3 reduced admission to the fair and approximately 600 combined free boxed breakfasts and lunches were given out to seniors.

The Upper Sandusky Community Library Board discussed several topics during its monthly meeting Thursday afternoon. Library Director Kathleen Whitt reported the library no longer had an adult outreach/programs specialist, but several employees had enthusiastically stepped up to spread some of the responsibilities of the position between different departments. She said the library likely will hire an assistant and dissolve the position.

Rehearsals are in full swing for The Star Theatre’s upcoming performance of “The Addams Family.” The show is directed by Keitha Voorheis and stars Ron Boose as Gomez Addams and Lindsey North as Morticia in the leading roles.

BUCYRUS — Backtrack will perform at 7 p.m. Oct. 2 at the Bucyrus Elementary School auditorium, 245 Woodlawn Ave., Bucyrus. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Formed in 2012, Backtrack is an award-winning five person a cappella group based in New York City that explores the power of the human voice through unique vocal arrangements, tight harmonies and world-class beatboxing.

TIFFIN — Heidelberg University’s School of Music and Theatre kicks off the 2018-19 performance season with its rendition of Meredith Willson’s classic romantic musical comedy “The Music Man” later this month. “The Music Man” has been entertaining audiences since 1957.

Wednesday marked the beginning of day one of harness racing at the 2018 Wyandot County Fair. This race was won by horse No. 2 Blasco, driven by Bud High.

Upper Sandusky Parks Director Keith Niederkohr provided an updated on the Bicentennial Park splash pad at Monday’s park board meeting. Niederkohr said the utilities are all hooked up to the splash pad and all the equipment has been installed.

SYCAMORE — Sycamore residents not taking care of their property will soon receive notice from the village following Tuesday’s village council meeting. Councilwoman Summer Rhoad reported from the housing committee that a list of people not mowing, taking care of weeds and leaving large amounts of trash in their yards had been compiled and letters will be sent to the addresses.
