Employees share outreach specialist job responsibilities at Upper library

The Upper Sandusky Community Library Board discussed several topics during its monthly meeting Thursday afternoon. Library Director Kathleen Whitt reported the library no longer had an adult outreach/programs specialist, but several employees had enthusiastically stepped up to spread some of the responsibilities of the position between different departments. She said the library likely will hire an assistant and dissolve the position.

Backtrack to perform at Bucyrus Elementary

BUCYRUS — Backtrack will perform at 7 p.m. Oct. 2 at the Bucyrus Elementary School auditorium, 245 Woodlawn Ave., Bucyrus. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Formed in 2012, Backtrack is an award-winning five person a cappella group based in New York City that explores the power of the human voice through unique vocal arrangements, tight harmonies and world-class beatboxing.

Sycamore to send out notices to properties that need maintenance

SYCAMORE — Sycamore residents not taking care of their property will soon receive notice from the village following Tuesday’s village council meeting. Councilwoman Summer Rhoad reported from the housing committee that a list of people not mowing, taking care of weeds and leaving large amounts of trash in their yards had been compiled and letters will be sent to the addresses.
