Governor appoints Jeff as Ohio tax commissioner COLUMBUS — Upper Sandusky native and former area state Rep. Jeff McClain was appointed by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine as commissioner of the Department of Taxation on Thursday. “Basically I’m a member of the governor’s cabinet,” McClain said. “My job is to run the department. We have about 900 employees and we deal with about 30 different taxes and we touch everybody’s lives whether it’s personal income tax, municipal tax, any tax that’s in the state of Ohio, we’re a part of it and we make sure we do it fairly and honestly and with a great deal of transparency.” Read More
