Mohawk discusses Rover pipeline options

SYCAMORE — The Mohawk Board of Education was given multiple options for what to do with the Rover Pipeline money Tuesday at its regularly scheduled meeting. The board heard from Mike Burns, a representative from Baird who spoke on investment and debt strategies. Burns said this is an unusual time in the market where rates have gone up for the past three years while borrowing costs have gone down for the past five months.

Health alliance plans for healthier community

The Wyandot County Health Alliance met Tuesday at Wyandot Memorial Hospital to discuss updates for its plans to improve community health and well-being. Wyandot County Director of Environmental Health Jeff Ritchey said press releases were in the works for prom and the health board will have a presence at the upcoming bike rodeo.

USEVS Board of Education heads East

The Upper Sandusky Exempted Village School District Board of Education continued visiting each of its buildings by holding its meeting Monday evening at East Elementary and giving East students a chance to share some of the happenings at the school.

Carey awards bid for boulevard project

CAREY — Carey Village Council on Monday approved a motion to award the bid for the Memorial Park Boulevard project to Hohenbrink Excavating Inc., of Findlay, for $142,202.80. Bids for the street project were opened March 5 in the council chambers. The village received four bids ranging as high as $208,000.

The Parlor Room, so named after the “Beverly Hillbillies,” will play host to private events of 50 people or smaller, paint and pour events and Thursday wine tastings.

Hospital reports recent increase in flu cases

In the last two weeks, the middle of flu season, Wyandot Memorial Hospital has seen an increase in cases of Influenza. Valerie Schalk, who works with infection prevention at Wyandot Memorial Hospital, explained that there are two types of Influenza, “A” and “B,” and noted that every case the hospital has seen this season is Influenza A.
