Wyandot fire departments receive grant money for MARCS system

Not taken for granted

The Ohio State Fire Marshall visited the Wyandot County EMS building Wednesday afternoon to award grant money to seven Wyandot County fire departments. Jeff Hussey and his Chief Deputy Bill Spurgeon presented a check for $279,017.29 to the Upper Sandusky, Carey, Sycamore, Wharton, Wyandot East, Marseilles and Pitt Township fire departments to be used for a new multi-agency radio communication system (MARCS).

LaRue man crushed while working on car

LaRUE — A LaRue man died Wednesday morning after an accident on private property on TH 67. Dana A. Green, 54, of rural LaRue, was killed after a 2003 GMC Envoy he was working on rolled forward while he was underneath it, according to a Wyandot County Sheriff’s report.

Rachel M. Patton, Upper Sandusky, was cited for driving under suspension on the 100 block of Broadview Street the afternoon of March 12. A caller reported a motorist had parked over the cross walk on Hazel Street at Walker Street while waiting to pick their children up from school the afternoon of March 12.

Peacock Water employees complete Kinetico professional service seminar

MARION — Dylan Runyon and Seth Fairchild of Peacock Water have successfully completed the professional service seminar at Kinetico’s Service Academy, the training arm of Kinetico Incorporated in Newbury. Runyon and Fairchild, along with other service professionals working for dealerships across the country, participated in this intensive service training seminar conducted by Kinetico, a manufacturer of non-electric, metered, demand operated, twin tank water processing equipment.

Sheps named hospitalist medical director

Dan Sheps, D.O., has been named the medical director of the hospitalist service at Wyandot Memorial Hospital. Dr. Sheps directs the medical care of inpatients in the medical/surgical and intensive/critical care nursing units. He and his team of hospitalists have extensive experience and training in managing the complex care of acutely ill hospitalized patients.

Counseling center to locate in downtown Tiffin

TIFFIN — Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor Lea Frank has announced that she is opening a new counseling center in downtown Tiffin April 1. Frank, owner and proprietor of Higher Ground Counseling Center, 205 S. Washington St., is to offer clinical counseling for mostly people ages 17 and older.

Family: Lee victim of Mount Carmel overdose scandal

The family of an Upper Sandusky man says he was a victim in the Mount Carmel overdose scandal. Robert P. Lee, of Upper Sandusky, died at Mt. Carmel-St. Ann’s Hospital in Westerville on Oct. 13, 2017. He was 70. The family later learned that Dr. William Husel had ordered a lethal dose of fentanyl, the immediate cause of Lee’s death.
