ODOT updates project schedule The Ohio Department of Transportation recently released the following highway construction scheduled to occur within Wyandot County. Work is dependent upon weather conditions. U.S. 23 over Tymochtee Creek, just north of TH 103, will be restricted to one lane in each direction for a bridge rehabilitation project. The project also includes resurfacing of U.S. 23 between CH 97 and the U.S. 30 interchange, north of Upper Sandusky, which is expected to begin in early June. Lane restrictions are possible within the entire work zone for work done in preparation for resurfacing. Read More
Rams thump Rockets to reach district final SHELBY — Thirteen strikeouts isn’t a season high for Upper Sandusky senior pitcher Jason Holly. He struck out 17 in a win earlier in the season, and had struck out 13 batters three separate times before Thursday’s contest. But in the Upper Sandusky baseball team’s 11-2 victory over Oak Harbor in the district semifinals Thursday at Shelby, Holly added to his 80 strikeouts on the season, pitching a complete game and allowing just five hits and two runs, striking out the side in one inning and retiring the Rockets in order in the second, third and fifth innings. Safety blotter: May 24, 2019 A caller reported a small fire on the 300 block of West Spring Street the early morning of May 23. The responding officer located an unattended fire with no protective ring and within 50 feet of a shed. Contact was made with the property owner, who extinguished the fire. Read More
Clinger to speak at Upper’s Memorial Day As many places as Master Gunnery Sgt. Daniel Clinger has been over the course of his life and service with the U.S. Marine Corps, he has always considered Wyandot County home. Clady sentenced to community control for extortion attempt An Upper Sandusky man was sentenced to three years of community control Wednesday after pleading guilty to attempted extortion. Shawn W. Clady, was indicted for extortion on Oct. 10, 2018, before pleading guilty to the lesser charge April 2. Read More

Juvenile detained for ‘irate behavior’ at Upper library An Upper Sandusky juvenile was detained after becoming combative in the Upper Sandusky Community Library Wednesday evening.
