The Star Players of Upper Sandusky is set to perform its 13th annual Christmas Cabaret at 7 p.m. Dec. 2 at the Star Theater. The annual event includes several of the Star Players, along with a few special guests, performing many yuletide favorites.

FINDLAY — The University of Findlay Orchestra will present “The Story of Winter” at 3 p.m. Dec. 3 in Winebrenner Theological Seminary’s TLB Auditorium. The performance is free, but tickets are required and can be obtained at the Marathon Center for the Performing Arts’ box office at 200 W. TIFFIN — Heidelberg University’s School of Music and Theatre will reimagine the Charles Dickens’ classic for its annual holiday concert, “A Heidelberg Christmas Carol,” at 3 p.m. Dec. 3 at the Ritz Theatre for the Performing Arts. “A Heidelberg Christmas Carol” is a two-part celebration of holiday stories both new and old, featuring the sights, sounds and songs of the season by School of Music and Theatre ensembles, large and small.

Sixth grade volunteers from Union School in Upper Sandusky helped rake and bag leaves Tuesday morning alongside principal Jim Wheeler at the Wyandot County Fairgrounds as part of their day of service.

Union School sixth graders Holden Daris, Gabriel Daughenbaugh, Ellie Darnell, Will Ellcessor, Blake Craig and Jaydin Depinet helped set up a Christmas tree Tuesday at Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with teacher Beth Richman, who also works at the County Home.

Four projects in Wyandot County received approval for grant funding Friday at the District 16 - Round of 32 for the Ohio Public Works Commission. The first project funded was a joint township/county paving in Wyandot County.

Three vehicles were broken into Monday evening at the Wyandot Memorial Hospital parking lot. In all three incidents, police reports state a purse was visible inside the vehicle either on a seat or the floor with the doors locked.

The Upper Sandusky Fire Department had its 2012 Pierce 100-foot Sky-Arm Arrow XT ladder truck on full display Tuesday.

Starting Nov. 1, farmers with base acres in the Agriculture Risk Coverage or Price Loss Coverage safety net program were able to enroll for the 2018 crop year. The enrollment period ends Aug. 1. Because shares and ownership of a farm can change year-to-year, producers must enroll by signing a contract each program year.

WASHINGTON — The National Farmers Union joined a coalition of 82 farm, rural and consumer groups last week in sending a letter to President Donald Trump urging him to implement the Farmer Fair Practices Rules via executive order.
