Wednesday deadline for dog licenses

The Wyandot County Auditor’s Office would like to remind residents that 2018 dog licenses now are on sale and must be purchased by Jan. 31 to avoid the late penalty charge. Licenses are required for all dogs 3 months of age and older and are $16 each.

Criminal, traffic cases tried in court

Paul S. Hord, Forest, charged by the state with assault and violating a protective order, amended plea to no contest, found guilty; and domestic violence, found guilty. Erin R. Brown, Upper Sandusky, charged by the police with domestic violence, amended plea to no contest, finding deferred pending pre-sentence investigation.

New court cases filed

Certificate of judgment: First Ohio Credit Union, Fostoria, vs. Carissa D. Skidmore AKA Carissa D. Vanscoder and Marilyn J. Toops, 454 N. Sandusky Ave., Upper Sandusky, judgment debtors. Criminal: State of Ohio vs. Christopher M. Klaiber, Marion, obstructing official business.

Teen traffic court

Keyanna J. Kail, 4475 TH 51, Upper Sandusky, speed, $30 fine plus costs, two points, 90-day BMV suspension; and assured clear distance ahead, $30 fine plus costs, points, one-year BMV suspension.

Snowy owl

Bill Harris recently captured a photo of a snowy owl disregarding a private property sign near a pond located close to CH 56 and CH 60 a couple miles southeast of Upper Sandusky.
