Red Cross responds to Forest home fire Sunday

FINDLAY— The American Red Cross North Central Ohio Chapter reported it responded to a fire on S. Davis St. in Forest Sunday night. The Red Cross provided assistance for the immediate needs of two adults and three children, including temporary lodging, food and clothing and comfort kits of personal hygiene items and stuffed animals for the children.

Budweiser Clydesdales coming to Wyandot Fair

FINDLAY — The world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales, an enduring symbol of Budweiser’s heritage, tradition and commitment to quality since 1933, are scheduled to make two appearances in northwest Ohio in mid-September. The eight-horse hitch team and famous red wagon will appear from 3-5 p.m. Sept. 13 at the Wyandot County Fair in Upper Sandusky at the grandstand infield.

Riverdale Local Schools getting new app for school lunches

MOUNT BLANCHARD — In the coming months, Riverdale students and parents will get to utilize a new app to see photos and nutritional values of food items offered on the school’s menu. Riverdale Food Service Director Tina Weber and Superintendent Jeff Young both reported on the new service to be provided during Monday evening’s monthly board meeting.

Feeling fresh

Attendees at Monday’s meeting of What’s Cookin’ at the Upper Sandusky Community Library dig into a potluck of assorted entrees, sides and desserts. The theme of Monday’s meeting was creating a dish with fresh produce as a key ingredient.

Safety blotter: August 27, 2019

Radu P. Malacescu, Fort Mill, South Carolina, was issued a parking citation on Comfort Drive the early morning of Aug. 25. Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of North Fourth Street for a verbal domestic disturbance the early morning of Aug. 25. The situation did not progress beyond yelling and both parties agreed to separate for the night.

Vanlue medieval event cancelled

VANLUE — The Society for Creative Anachronism event called Pounce scheduled for Labor Day weekend at the Vanlue community park has been canceled, according to the Carey Area Chamber of Commerce.
