The FSA’s Farm Storage Facility Loan program provides low-interest financing to producers to build or upgrade storage facilities and to purchase portable (new or used) structures, equipment and storage and handling trucks. The low-interest funds may be used to build or upgrade permanent facilities to store commodities.

KENTON — Northwestern Ohio is seeing full implementation of Ohio’s Agricultural Fertilizer Applicator Certification regulation, which was result of Senate Bill 150, which was co-sponsored by former State Sen. Cliff Hite. The 2014 regulation required farmers to complete a fertilizer certification program if they applied fertilizer to more than 50 acres of land in agricultural production primarily for sale.

Producers that have a farm loan with the FSA are reminded they must provide data for their Year-End Analysis (YEA) to their loan officer each year. Borrowers are urged to provide this information timely so that their files can be maintained.

The Wyandot County Commissioners stopped by the Wyandot Soil and Water Conservation District’s December board meeting Thursday and presented Eileen Kuenzli a plaque in honor of her 20 years of service at the SWCD.

Wade Vaughn was reelected to represent farmers from Richland, Salem, Crane and Eden townships on the county committee. He was elected to his second consecutive term.

KENTON — The 2018 Conservation Tillage Club breakfast program series will begin Jan. 9 at the Plaza Inn Restaurant in Mount Victory. Each session will start at 7:30 a.m. with complimentary buffet breakfast followed by the program at 8 a.m.

To run a business meeting right, correct parliamentary procedure, or parli pro, should be used. Parli pro helps a meeting to run smoothly and efficiently. It preserves the rights of the minority, yet lets the majority rule. Parli pro allows members to address items of business and change or modify that business to fit the wishes of the organization. Parli pro also allows members to deal with issues or concerns that arise during the discussion of business in a way that is courteous to all. Some of these abilities include amending a motion, referring an item to a committee, rescinding a motion or rising to a point of order.
