KENTON — The final Conservation Tillage Club breakfast program series of the year is Feb. 19 at the Plaza Inn Restaurant in Mount Victory. The session will start at 7:30 a.m. with a complimentary buffet breakfast followed by the program at 8 a.m.

The Wyandot and Hardin county Soil and Water Conservation Districts are hosting a Soil Health and Cover Crop workshop from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at the Wyandot EMS Building, 401 N. Warpole St., Upper Sandusky. During the morning part of the workshop, participants will hear from Jim Hoorman, who is a regional soil health specialist from the northwest region of Ohio and Michigan, Natural Resources Conservation Service.

COLUMBUS — Aryn Copeland from Crawford County will represent Ohio at the 2019 American Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers Collegiate Discussion Meet from March 15-18 as part of the Fusion Conference in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

FOSTORIA — The Mennel Milling Company has announced the hiring of Michael “Mike” MaGinn as director of operations for the grain division. In his new role, MaGinn will be responsible for the operational oversight of the company’s grain handling and processing assets and functions.

CAREY — The Wyandot County FFA chapters (Carey, Mohawk, Riverdale and Upper Sandusky) are selling fresh strawberries. The proceeds from this sale will be used to conduct and support Wyandot County FFA Activities. The sale continues until Feb. 22.

BUCYRUS — Brian Waters from Ohio State University food science will present on home brewing beers from 6-9 tonight in the Crawford County Courthouse lower level conference room. He will be discussing the brewing process of making all grain mash beers and how different ingredients change the flavor.
