The Wyandot County Council on Aging recently sponsored an overnight trip to Frankenmuth, Michigan. Travelers were given an opportunity to start their Christmas shopping while visiting Bronners Christmas Store in Frankenmuth and Silver Bells Christmas Shoppe in Dundee, Michigan.

Upper native to host book signing Friday

Kristin Widun, a former resident of Upper Sandusky and 1987 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School, has released her first children’s book, “Ricky the Pirate Dog — Ricky Finds His Voice.” The book is the story of Ricky, a shy dog who dreams of becoming a fierce pirate sailing the high seas in search of adventure.

Blood drive set at Elks

TOLEDO — The American Red Cross will host a blood drive from 12-6 p.m. Dec. 2 at the Upper Sandusky Elks Lodge, 320 E. Wyandot Ave. The Red Cross encourages individuals and organizations to make a lifesaving blood donation or host a blood drive this winter.

New astronomy club to share in sky sights

CRESTLINE — The Crawford Park District is inviting the public to join the newly formed Lowe-Volk Astronomy Club for a program at 7 p.m. Nov. 28 at Lowe-Volk Park, 2401 Ohio 598, Crestline. Club members will share their knowledge and telescope skills with all who are interested in celestial sights.

F-J story time canceled

FOREST — Storytime Station at the Forest-Jackson Public Library has been canceled for the evening of Dec. 1 due to a family event at Riverdale School. The morning story time will take place at 10:30 a.m.

Meeting minutes: November 21, 2015

SYCAMORE — Members of the Mohawk Lioness Club recently met at the Sycamore Firehouse for their November meeting with 21 members present. President Karen Harber led the Pledge of Allegiance and Jean Walton gave the thought and prayer.
