Safe Communities Coalition urges parents to take steps to keep teen safe

The Wyandot County Safe Communities Coalition is asking local parents to take extra steps this prom season to keep teens safe. While there may be great joy in watching teens, dress up, participate in a prom, take pictures and dance, all adding to lasting memories, the coalition reminds parents “it only takes one bad choice to turn a magical evening into a living nightmare.

Tiffin flea market begins for season Sat.

TIFFIN — The 2016 season for the Tiffin flea market, which supports Seneca County Junior Fair programs begins from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Seneca County Fairgrounds. The Tiffin flea market is one of the largest in northwest Ohio with eight buildings and more than 200 outside vendors offering a variety of items.

Sycamore seniors luncheon scheduled for Wednesday

SYCAMORE — The annual Sycamore senior citizens luncheon, sponsored by the Mohawk 60-Plus Club, will be at noon Wednesday at the Sycamore Community Center. Tickets are $5 each and may be purchased at the Mohawk 60-Plus Club from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday or by calling Chris at the 419-927-2381.

Meeting minutes: April 29, 2016

Eight members and five guests attended the Wyandot Tracers Ohio Genealogical Society and the Upper Sandusky Community Library joint meeting recently. Due to a misunderstanding of meeting dates, scheduled speaker Mark Cory was not able to attend.
