The Mohawk Local School District honored its high school underclassmen with awards for the 2015-16 academic year during a morning program Thursday at the school.

The Wyandot County Council on Aging’s travel club, Seniors on the Go, recently returned from a four-day trip to Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and the surrounding area. Travelers visited Hershey’s Chocolate World and Turkey Hill Experience and toured Julius Sturgis Pretzel Shop and the Flight 93 National Memorial.

CAREY — The volunteers at the Our Lady of Consolation Bakery have been getting ready for Mother’s Day, preparing plates of candy and lots of rhubarb pies. A bake sale is scheduled for today and Sunday.

BUCYRUS — Crawford Park District naturalist Warren Uxley will be hosting a spring bird walk at 9 a.m. Sunday at Sears Woods. Those interested in attending are asked to meet in the parking lot.

Walmart in Upper Sandusky is celebrating its 10-year anniversary this month with a variety of activities to show appreciation to the community for its support. Special programs and offers will be May 14-21.

COLUMBUS — May is National Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month and the Ohio State Highway Patrol is reminding motorcyclists to ride endorsed, trained and sober. Also, motorists are reminded they should be aware there will be an increase in motorcycles on the roadways with the warmer weather.

Kappa Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma International will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday at the American Civil War Museum in Tiffin. The entrance fee is $5.

Amvets Post No. 777 will host its annual meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday The meeting will include nominations for post officers, and organizers are encouraging all Amvets members to attend.
