ASHLAND — Mount Blanchard resident Brandon May, a junior business management and entrepreneurship major at Ashland University, completed a summer internship with Triumph Thermal Group in Forest. The internship was under the supervision of finance controller Barb Cytlak.

An ostomy support group will meet at noon Sept. 28 in the board room at Wyandot Memorial Hospital. Ostomy specialist Kris Shroll will discuss ostomy accessories and show samples of the latest in ostomy care products.

TOLEDO — Outstanding high school marching bands from throughout Ohio, Indiana, Michigan and Kentucky will compete Oct. 1 in one of the nation’s most prominent championships, Music for All’s Bands of America regional championship at Toledo, presented by Yamaha, at The Glass Bowl, 3044 N. Glass Bowl Drive, Toledo.

LUCAS — Wynford’s boys took third place Tuesday in the Lucas Cub Classic. Northmor was the winner with 20 points, while Lucas edged the Royals, 74-89, for second place.

Ray and Shirley Walter, of Glendale, Arizona, recently traveled to this area to meet with other members of the Wharton High School class of 1958 at The Village Restaurant in Upper Sandusky.

SYCAMORE — The Mohawk Historical Society will share some of its collection of hundreds of vintage pictures from the Sycamore Community Pool at 7 p.m. Sept. 22 at the shelter house at Veterans Memorial Park. The groundbreaking ceremony for the Sycamore community swimming pool took place June 13, 1966, according to the historical society.

Wyandot County Public Health will begin offering seasonal influenza vaccines for the 2016-17 flu season at the Wyandot County Fair. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends routine annual influenza vaccination for all people 6 months of age and older who do not have contraindications to the vaccine, such as a severe allergy to chicken eggs; severe reaction after a previous dose of flu vaccine; those who developed Guillain-Barre syndrome six weeks after a previous dose of influenza vaccine; infants younger than 6 months of age; and those with a moderate to severe illness.
