Eleven members and one guest met in the new Alban room at Emanuel United Church of Christ for their December meeting. Vice president Sara Gier opened the meeting.

SYCAMORE — The Mohawk Historical Society, located at 101-107 N. Sycamore Ave., Sycamore, will host a grand re-opening of its museum from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 12 and from 1-4 p.m. Dec. 13. The Mohawk Historical was founded in 1993 and currently has more than 470 members in 36 states.

The American Red Cross of Wyandot County will host a new volunteer open house and workshop from 1-4 p.m. Monday for people interested in becoming Red Cross volunteers. The event will be held in the board room at the Upper Sandusky Community Library, 301 N. Sandusky Ave.

In the wake of the latest mass violence in the United States, the Upper Sandusky Ministerial Association has announced plans for a “pause for prayer.” This Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m., all churches and congregations are invited to stop their worship activities and be led in five minutes of prayer by their pastor or other leaders, followed by all churches ringing their bells at 10:35 a.m.

Congressman Bob Latta and state conservationist Terry Cosby of the U.S. Department of Agriculture recently toured Wood County farms to learn about various practices utilized to improve conservation and water management in farming.

BUCYRUS — Candles will be glowing in the windows of Harvey One-Room School from 1-4 p.m. Sunday when the school will host an open house and Christmas celebration. Music will be provided by the Crawford Theatre Company and Emma Steiger on piano.

FOREST — The Forest-Jackson Public Library will show two movies Dec. 11. The movie matinee “90 Minutes In Heaven” will begin at 1 p.m. A freewill donation includes popcorn and a drink.

FOREST — The Forest-Jackson Public Library will offer a food for fines program through the month of December. For each can of food donated by a patron, $1 will be credited to that patron’s fines.

A Christmas extravaganza concert is scheduled for 6 p.m. Dec. 18 at Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church, 108 Malabar Drive, Upper Sandusky. Proceeds from the event will go to the Wyandot County Salvation Army.
