Warpole Chapter No. 366 Order of the Eastern Star recently met at the Masonic Center in Upper Sandusky. Worthy matron Roberta Ekleberry welcomed 34 members with a reading of “A Different Christmas Poem,” which also was a Christmas tribute to military members.

Sycamore UCC to host blue Christmas service

SYCAMORE — Sycamore United Church of Christ will host a blue Christmas service at 7 p.m. Dec. 21. Also known as the “longest night” service, blue Christmas worship offers an opportunity for people who have lost loved ones to pray and hear scripture and music.

Holiday home, church tour to benefit REACH

A Christmas home tour will be offered from 4-8 p.m. Dec. 20 to benefit Recognizing and Enriching All Children or REACH, which offers classes in a variety of topics for youth on Saturday mornings in April. Area residents are invited to tour three Upper Sandusky homes and two Lutheran churches that will be decorated for the Christmas season during the home tour.

Pancake breakfast winners announced

The Upper Sandusky Rotary Club hosted its first pancake breakfast as part of Home for the Holidays on Saturday, with a “huge crowd” turning out for breakfast and entertainment by a dance school and the Findlay cheerleaders, according to a press release from the Upper Sandusky Area Chamber of Commerce.

Book fair underway

FOREST — The Forest-Jackson Public Library is hosting an Usborne book fair through the month of December. There is a large assortment of books on display at the library that are for sale for cash only.
