Bringing the family voice to addiction and recovery teams

A recent evening began with Dr. Lillian Shumaker, president of Tiffin University, welcoming members to the event and recognizing that everyone in the room knew of someone who is impacted by addiction. Then Mircea Handru, executive director of the Mental Health and Recovery Services Board of Seneca, Sandusky and Wyandot Counties, spoke of the importance of supporting those who have addictions and who are working toward their recovery.

African penguin to visit MCL

SYCAMORE — The WAVE Foundation of the Newport Aquarium will bring a live African penguin to the Mohawk Community Library at 2 p.m. Oct. 15. There will be crafts, a discussion on African penguins and a penguin-themed story time beginning at 11 a.m.
