Senior expo set for this month

The Wyandot County Council on Aging will host its annual Senior Expo from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 27 at Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church, 108 Malabar Drive. New shoe ministry to begin

St. Paul Lutheran Church will host a one-day retreat, Sewing for Soles, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 19. The retreat is a newly formed mission created for the purpose of providing shoes for children in need in the community.

OLC bakery to be open

CAREY — The potato chip crew at the Our Lady of Consolation volunteer bakery has doubled its production for the bakery’s sale Saturday and Sunday. Potato chips proved so popular at the September sale that the crew decided to increase its output two-fold.

Worthy matron Roberta Ekleberry welcomed 31 members to a recent meeting of Warpole Chapter No. 366 Order of the Eastern Star. The conductress introduced Marla Barber, deputy grand matron, and Darcie Miller, grand representative of Oregon in Ohio.

Domestic violence survivor to speak

FINDLAY — Open Arms Domestic Violence and Rape Crisis Services is taking reservations for its annual meeting at 7 p.m. Oct. 24 at Parkview Christian Church, 15035 E. Ohio 12. This year’s keynote address will be given by author and survivor Joanna Connors, whose book, “I Will Find You,” will be on sale at the event.

Angeline to host workshops

The Wyandot County Parent Mentor program will sponsor two workshops in the upcoming months for families of people with disabilities. Mindy Mack of Firelands Counseling and Recovery Services will offer a program on strengthening parent-child relationships from 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesday.
