CAREY — The Our Lady of Consolation volunteer bakery has been preparing for Thanksgiving and will offer traditional fare for the upcoming holiday Saturday and Sunday. Featured items will be pumpkin pie, dinner rolls topped with sesame seeds, and chocolate-covered marshmallows.

The public is invited to a free Thanksgiving dinner from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Sunday at John Stewart United Methodist Church, 130 W. Johnson St. On the menu will be turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetables, tossed salad, cranberry salad, desserts, rolls and butter and beverages.

Marcile (Geary) and C.L. “Mick” McBride, of Forest, recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. The couple was married Oct. 28, 1946 in Covington, Kentucky.

The annual community Thanksgiving service, sponsored by the Upper Sandusky Ministerial Association, will be at 7 p.m. Nov. 23 at Emanuel United Church of Christ, located at the intersection of TH 127 and CH 59. The annual Thanksgiving worship service will involve pastors from area churches.

UF student groups elect presidents FINDLAY — Student groups at the University of Findlay have elected presidents for the 2016-17 academic year.

NEVADA — Nevada United Methodist Church will host a Christian spoken word artist, Egypt Speaks, of Euclid, at 7 p.m. Dec. 5. Egypt Speaks has performed with musical artists like Toby Mac and Switchfoot.

NEVADA — Pianist Konstantinos Griveas will perform at 6 p.m. Dec. 10 at Nevada United Methodist Church. The event is free and open to the public.
