The following Wynford seventh- and eighth-grade student-athletes earned at least a 3.5 GPA for the third grading and were named spring scholar athletes.

Upper Sandusky High School recently released its honor role list for the third nine weeks grading period.

Upper Sandusky Lions Club recently awarded certificates and gift cards to four Upper Sandusky High School students who were recognized as students of the month for March.

COLUMBUS — Upper Sandusky High School senior Alaney Oney is the Wyandot County recipient of the 28th annual Franklin B. Walter All-Scholastic Award sponsored by the Ohio Educational Service Center Association. Oney, a daughter of Nick and Deanna Oney of Upper Sandusky, recently received a plaque at an awards luncheon in Columbus.

FOREST — Forest Christian Preschool will celebrate 35 years of providing a Christian environment for children ages 3-5. Openings are available for next school year in an afternoon pre-kindergarten class that meets Monday, Wednesday and Friday and a morning nursery class that meets Tuesday and Thursday.

WHARTON — More than 40 children up to fourth-graders attended the annual Wharton Easter Egg Hunt. The event sponsored by Wharton Grow ’n Learn Mothers Club and Wharton Park Board was at Wharton Park.

General surgeon Dr. Peter Schuler will provide free vein screenings from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. May 3 and 17 at VeinCare, near the north entrance at Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Upper Sandusky. The screenings will include a brief varicose vein risk factor questionnaire and consultation with Schuler, who treats varicose and spider veins with radiofrequency ablation, sclerotherapy injections and VeinGogh.

Upper Sandusky FFA’s 30th annual farm toy show is from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Upper Sandusky High School gymnasium. There are more than 100 tables set up by more than 30 vendors dealing in farm and construction toys, scale buildings, NASCAR and related memorabilia.

American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 225 President Sharon Huffman called the April meeting to order. Chaplain Rita Logsdon open the meeting with The Lord’s Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.
