FOREST — Forest-Jackson Public Library will host a Microsoft Publisher poster-making class at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. Attendees will learn how to add backgrounds, change fonts, insert images and more.

McCUTCHENVILLE — Trinity United Church of Christ hosts a chicken barbecue dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday. The menu includes a half-Harlan’s chicken, a choice of two sides (homemade potato salad, baked beans or applesauce) rolls, butter and drinks.

FOREST — The 2017 Tree Town Festival committee seeks royalty contest applications. Competitions are for prince and princess, king and queen, and festival baby. Contestants who sell the most festival tickets are crowned winners.

Upper Sandusky art teacher Bonnie Wolfe will showcase her students’ work from 2–4 p.m. Sunday at her home, 10627 CH 91.

Sisters in Shelter will present a program about human trafficking and modern-day slavery at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Upper Sandusky Community Library. The nonprofit, Tiffin-based organization provides emergency and transitional housing, trauma and psychological care, and lifeskills training for women who have been victims of human trafficking.

FOREST — The 2017 Tree Town Festival Parade is at 6:30 p.m. July 7. Line-up begins at 5:30 p.m. at the soccer fields on West Dixon Street. Awards will be given for best commercial float, best youth float, best organizational float, best classic car, best antique car, best antique tractor, best-mounted horse and best hitch.

LaRUE — Elgin alumni’s fourth annual banquet is June 24 in the Elgin cafetorium. Social hour begins at 5 p.m., and dinner is served a 6 p.m.
