Members of Town and Country 4-H recently gathered for the club’s second meeting at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Upper Sandusky. Kaytlyn Graver called the meeting to order, and McKenna Rapp led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Carey resident honored at YSU YOUNGSTOWN — Taylor Fletcher of Carey completed the Emerging Leader Program at Youngstown State University. Fletcher, a senior accounting major, was among more than 200 YSU students recognized at the 2017 student awards banquet.

CAREY — Paul and Bonnie (Plummer) Conley of Carey will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday. Mr. Conley is a son of the late Bruce and Ruby Conley.

CAREY — Hannah Campbell Zapletal, a certified Monty Roberts instructor, will put on a horsemanship clinic May 29 at the Wyandot County Humane Society Equine Rescue farm, 4658 Ohio 199, Carey. The cost is $30 to observe or $50 to participate.

A kickoff meeting for Toastmasters International personal development and leadership program is from 5:30-7 p.m. Thursday at Fairhaven Community auditorium, Upper Sandusky. Businesses and community members are invited to join the program that teaches leadership and public-speaking skills.

FINDLAY — Bridge Bereavement Services offers a program for children who have lost a loved one. Sprouting Hope brings together children ages 6-12 with their peers to participate in activities to help them express their feelings, create lasting memories of their loved one and have fun.

FOREST — Forest-Jackson Public Library closes at noon Friday for staff training. Regular hours resume Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

CRESTLINE — Crawford Park District will host a National Bird Day event at 5 p.m. Thursday at Lowe-Volk Park, 2401 Ohio 598. The public is invited to take part in bird-themed games and activities before a hike around in the park.

BUCYRUS — Wynford High School senior Annika Gerlach is the Crawford County winner of the 2017 Franklin B. Walter All-Scholastic Award. The honor was presented to one student in each of Ohio’s 88 counties.
