Old Mission speakers updated for the summer

An update to Old Mission Church speakers for this year have been announced. They are Kathleen Shuck, First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sunday; and Jay Scott, Mud Church, July 1; the Rev. James Wheeler AKA Pastor Brian Arnold, July 8; Second Chief Norman Hildebrand, July 15; the Rev. Anna Guillozet, Master UMC, July 22; the Rev. Doug Pummell, July 29; Ken Wessler, First Presbyterian Church, Aug. 5; and Chief Billy Friend, Aug. 12.

Humane Society: June 19, 2018

The following report was prepared and submitted by the Wyandot County Humane Society on June 18, 2018 and is correct as of that date: Pets reported as missing since the last report that have not been found include: A white female Husky, a red female Pomeranian-Jack Russell terrier mix, a neutered male buff colored cat, an older brown and white male German Short Hair Pointer, a tan and white male Pit Bull, a spayed female black cat, a neutered male grey and white cat, a grey and white female cat, and a larger black and white male Hound.

Open Door Fun Run set for June 30

Open Door Resource Center is holding its annual Colorblast Fun Walk/Run on June 30 at Harrison Smith Park in Upper Sandusky. This year the event will include games for all ages, food and music performed by Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church.

State creative writing

For the second year in a row, the Upper Sandusky Middle School creative writing team has sent students to compete at the state level. Aidan Brugmann and Hannah Dulaney earned that distinction this year after Hannah Herring did so last year.

Sichko coming back to Shrine

CAREY — The Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation, Carey, continues to focus this year on the theme of “Consolation.” Father Jim Sichko will be the guest celebrant and preacher at the 5:30 pm. June 30 Mass and the 8 a.m., 10 a.m. and noon Mass July 1.

Foundation seeks grant applicants

The Wyandot County Community Foundation is accepting applications for its 2018 grant program and will be awarding grants to Wyandot County 501(c)(3) organizations, schools or governmental units to support their programs. Grant applications for specific projects that meet the educational, cultural, health, social services or recreational needs of Wyandot County residents will be considered.
